I’m an American and had been involved in a serious relationship with a Shanghainese girl for about 4 years, and after suffering true misery over the past several months I finally decided to break up with her.
I’ve heard numerous horror stories from my own friends and read on different message boards about foreigners being involved in similar relationships and unmistakably, they all happen to be with Shanghainese girls.
I think it would be of great service to us Expats living in Shanghai, in particular single guys who may be looking to getting into a serious relationship with Chinese girls, and perhaps the dangers of dating Shanghainese girls.

Surely that’s a wee bit uncharitable… Do expat men deliberately try to get into a serious relationship with Chinese girls? That may be the root of the problem!!
